I do not know if there have been any property transfers including Darden Concepts, Inc., Red Lobster's parent entity, in the Simpsonville area.

Most Darden Concept restaurants are usually free standing with road frontage in good areas. I wonder if the former Movie Gallery on Fairview Road, the former Simpsonville Chevrolet on North Industrial Drive, or the former Stokes-Trainor Ford on Harrison Bridge Road sites would be ideal for redevelopment or if Harrison Bridge Road from I-385 to Fairview Road is ready to become a restaurant row.

This will be a replacement for the existing Patchwork Plaza location at 3795 East North Street. This Papa John's store I believe was the first in the upstate region and Greenville area.

I wouldn't mind seeing it on Grandview on the other side of Lowes (near Cracker Barrel).

Not only would I mind Red Lobster locating near Cracker Barrel and Lowe's, I would be okay if a retail center went up at Harrison Bridge Road and Grandview Drive if the economic environment is ready to accomodate it.

I hope it's not at the Movie Gallery. That parking spot is way too small. It'd be like the Greenville Pleasantburg Rd building all over again.

It would also be visible from 385 which would drive more customers (plus less traffic that Farview Rd). Maybe an Olive Garden would follow.

Maybe it will be one of the new Red Lobster/Olive Garden combo restaurant that Darden is trying in smaller towns. I believe there is one in Beaufort SC. All in one building with seperate entrances and dining rooms for each brand but they share the same bar, kitchen and bathrooms.

A new Red Lobster is good news, but I would still like to see a Captn D's in the quick serve category. Along with Popeyes and Roy Rogers. And a Big Boy would be great. But Frisch's doesn't have the rights to SC, and Bob's is mainly in California and the other corporate stores are in Michigan.

That would be very cool and would do well in Simpsonville.

Another Family Dollar going into the old Ethan Allen building on Pleasantburg near Bob Jones. There are only three more of them within a mile or so of that one. Only in this economy does a former high end furniture and decorating store location become a dollar store.
