CC & personal protection Gun for daughter

First time I have been on here in quite a long time and was surprised to see this thread still alive.

Just an update.

I had got her an LC9. I showed her how to use it when she came home. Made her sit on my bed for an hour and load and unload the magazine and rack a round into it etc.

She has gone to the range several times by herself. she doesn't carry yet and I'm ok with that. She has other means ofpersonal protection at this point. She may choose to carry sometime down the road. We shall see.

Eventually, I'll take her gun shopping again so she can choose her own gun but we rarely get to see her.

I've since bought her a Ruger SR9 for home defense. Haven't given it to her though. That's a project for the coming year.

The major issue I see with semi-autos is with the necessary strength to operate the slide. My wife is not weak, but she can not operate the slide on my S&W M&P 9mm shield, nor the S&W CS45 (she does like to shoot both of them though) However, she has no problem with my brothers Glock 9mm. I've been searching hard for 9mm for myself . I'm finding a trend in the people I talk to at gun ranges ,sellers , users , men and woman that conceal , the majority in my area ( Detroit) have S&W MP Shield 9mm and love them. 399.00 for one is a good deal.
