Obgyns also regularly examin healthy attractive women. I fail to see your point. Any doctor is going to have to treat diseases, male obgyns just have the perk of getting to look at attractive women naked a lot of the time.
Yes, I am fully aware of everything you said. Are you aware that a medical fetish is a relatively common thing? There are full forums that discuss such things and there are many doctors and nurses on these forums.
I haven't sidestepped anything, I discussed that above.
If a women has a choice between a female doctor and a male doctor to treat an issue in a sensitive area, why on earth should they logically choose
1) The doctor that doesn't have the same organs as them to allow them to understand what having these parts feels like.
Well, does that prevent a woman who's never had children from becoming an OBGYN to deliver babies? Does a doctor need to experience old age before they become a gerontologist? Or do they need to experience cancer first hand in order to become an oncologist? Do they need to experience schizophrenia first hand in order to become a psychiatrist? Do they need to experience life as both a male and as a female before they can become a pharmacist dispensing medication to both men and women? Geez.

Sources? Statistics? This is straight out of fantasy land.

Sources? Statistics? Again, straight out of fantasy land, and we already covered the fact that the OBGYNs aren't alone with the patients during pelvic exams... it's routine for a female staff member to be in the room. Are you trying to argue that OBGYNs are assaulting patients in front of witnesses? You're making up nonsense.

Direct contradiction of what you said in point 3).

3) If you think OBGYNs "talk down" to anyone, then you've never been to an OBGYN. Or, you have some really imaginative notions about drama, and power struggles, and intense conflict, all taking place in doctor's offices, which is a little peculiar. Too much General Hospital, maybe.
4) This theory flies in the face of evidence. Many women have two options, and are just indifferent to whether the medical specialist is male or female.
5) You've never been a patient of an OBGYN yourself, so you're no expert, kiddo.

I prefer a woman doc for female things. They are going to understand a lot better than a male doctor will. Would a man prefer a male or female doctor for prostate issues?
To some extent, yes, a woman doctor would have some of her own life experience to draw on...but then, there are many situations they'd be facing, like miscarriages, pregnancies with complications, performing C-sections, performing biopsies, treating STDs, performing hysterectomies...No woman doctor is going to have personally experienced all of that. At least I'd hope not, she'd have no time to do work...
One other point worth mentioning is that there are people with intersex conditions too (hermaphrodites), and chromosome issues (45,X Turner Syndrome, etc.), who would be seeing an OBGYN for some issues... so, do they go to a male or female OBGYN?

Hahahaha - and you think that only MEN, or more specifically only male doctors have fantasies? I'm sure there are a number of lesbian gynos out there too. Why are you conveniently forgetting to include them in your fantastical rant? Let's at least be equal opportunity!

"Across specialties, male physicians are more likely to be sued than female physicians, and indeed, in this survey, more male ob/gyns (89%) were sued than female ob/gyns (81%). Sixty-seven percent of men and 69% of women were named along with others in malpractice suits, whereas 22% of men and only 12% of women were the only parties sued.
Most physicians will face a lawsuit during their career, and ob/gyns are the most frequently sued. According to recent studies, ob/gyns and surgeons are most likely to be sued among all physicians.[1,2] In the Medscape survey, 85% of ob/gyns, 83% of general surgeons, and 79% of orthopedists have been sued. In addition, at 23% and 26%, respectively, general surgeons and orthopedists were most likely to be the only parties named in a suit, with ob/gyns coming in third at 18%."
Show me a single case of a female Obgyn being charged with sexual assault, abuse or harassment. I can't find one. You are the one living in fantasy land.

You think there are an equal number of lesbian gynecologists as there are male gynecologists? What country do you live in?
I don't mind. Most of my doctors have been male, heck all my OBGYNs have been male, except one when I was 17, she was horrible. Due to an issue I was having she had to perform a pelvic exam, and it felt like she just went right for it, sticking her hand all the way. Sorry to be graphic. Then when she used the speculum again, she just kind of shoved it in and I remember it being cold and I told her how uncomfortable it was but she just told me not to worry it'll be over quick, I started crying and she slapped my leg and said "You're practically an adult, this is what women go through so you'll have to get used to it". After that, I went to a male and he was great, and a LOT more understanding.
Recently I had to get a Proctoscope exam and again, this was male, I don't care.
What gives you that idea? What brain training class do doctors take in med school. People always put doctors on such a pedestal when they are really just normal people.
They train in all areas of the hospital. Everyone does a round in OBGYN, Oncology, Pediatrics, etc. They start looking at people as something to be fixed after dissection or working ER.
My favorite ER doctor is a woman. My favorite gynecologist is a guy.

I know that. That doesn't answer my question. Again, which class do they teach you how to seperate your sexual desires from your work in med school. I want a course number.
Go by the quality of care, not the sex. My wife's last OB/GYN was terrible. But now she has a gynecological oncologist. (Cancer) She thinks he's great, and so do I.

Of course there isn't a specific course but very few doctors, male or female, gay or straight, are going to go to school for many years at tremendous expense and sacrifice in hopes of getting their sexual jollies from patients. Doctors are human but they have too much at risk to not train themselves to view patients in a clinical fashion, and in the occasional instance where they might see things in a sexual way they for sure are going to suppress it as a professional should. The ones that don't risk losing their license.
Nurses and techs are in the same boat and though their investment in their career is less than that of doctors, it is still substantial. They're human too and for the most part train themselves to view their patients in a clinical fashion, and when they can't, to do the best they can to suppress it, same as doctors.
Several months ago I had a cystoscopy which is pretty high up there in the list of intimate procedures a guy can have. I've had this procedure done dozens of times and never had it been sexual for the RN's and NP's that prepped me.... until this last time. She was the consummate professional though and did her best to suppress it as most professionals would. As soon as she finished the prep and we had to wait for the doctor to come in she made sure she stood north of "down there" and maintained eye contact with me rather than looking down there, and then during the procedure she kept her eyes on the screen. As soon as the doctor was done she covered me over as fast as she could. I can't fault her for having had a human reaction. I can praise her for handling it in a professional manner however. She wasn't looking for sexual jollies at my expense. This is the norm for all healthcare professionals.
Again, patients should go to whichever doctor they are most comfortable with, and if you have a preference for the genders of nurses & techs, speak up there too. Men won't often have an option in that regard but we can still speak up and at a minimum demand to be treated in a respectful and dignified manner should we encounter something less than that.
