I wouldn't be LOLing. You have to remember that Tampa didn't use the 1-3-1 for over half of the first period and Boston still couldn't score. Once Tampa went up 2-0, they could change over to the 1-3-1 and effectively shut down the B's.
Was Boston sloppy in game 1, absolutely. However, while Thomas gave up a terrible goal with the second goal and a bad giveaway led to the third, he kept it from being a blowout with several spectacular saves.
Plus the fact that the B's are 2 for 41 on the PP for the 12 games they have played in so far. That will not get them into the SCF.
So yeah, they're in trouble.

Reason: Off on number of games
Why? Game wasn't dominated by anyone at any time, pretty much back and forth. Sharks could have won but Canucks won the battle in the third.
The Canucks dominated the third period I think primarily because the Red Wings series took it's toll on the Sharks. They looked both physically and mentally drained.
Had they been able to wrap the Detroit series up in 5, as they should have, and been resting like the Canucks, we may have not only seen a much different final 20 minutes, but possibly a different outcome..
Also, and I'm not saying this is the reason the Sharks lost, but the PP disparity was 5-1 in Vancouver's favor. I find it hard to believe that any NHL team can play 60 minutes and only give up 1 PP..
The west series could be one that goes 7 games. Canucks take game 1 3-2 but it was very much an evenly played game. I like this series a lot.
Even ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
I could see that SJ was stronger than Nashville, But Vancouver STILL dominated.
SJ's first goal was worthless, as it was a STUPID play by Luongo, giving the puck away in front of an open net, . . . and Vancouver STILL climbed back from this devastating setback.
In reality the score should have been 3-1 or better in Vancouver's favor.
I tuned in during the 2nd period and the Sharks looked better. Things changed not long after, and Vancouver dominated the rest of the way.
