Those are still called bullpens, not warm-up areas. It doesn't matter if the bullpen is 'down the foul line' or tucked behind the outfield wall. It wasn't up until probably 20 to 25 years ago that the trend started to move the bullpens out of foul territory.

Many minor league ballparks, and even A few MLB ballparks like AT&T Field in San Francisco, have the bullpens down the foul lines. Even Wrigley Field had them placed in foul territory up until a few seasons ago.

The ones at Watt Powell Park were by the foul lines. Kids used to go sit in those bleacher seats to talk to the players.

It's a great way for the kids to get some autographs and pictures.

The minor league parks in Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, Frederick MD, and even Durham NC have the same bullpen set-up down the foul lines.

I forgot the Frederick Keys had their stadium set up like that. That was always a pretty nice venue.

This is one of the ways Marshall is providing a real value to the state of West Virginia:

U.S. News & World Report also recognized Marshall with the #147 position in the country in the “Social Mobility” category—a measure of how successful a school is at enrolling and graduating students who come from low-income households. Marshall is West Virginia’s only research university to be ranked in this category.

That’s great news, Marshall moving up the ranks. This should allow them to attract more students. And possibly help obtain more research dollars

President Gilbert talked about building a Brad D. Smith for Business and Innovation school on 4th avenue in a parking lot they already own. Anyone know where he’s talking about?
