I mentioned it, but I have never been there.

I have eaten there, I really liked it too. It was several years ago, I remember the service being awful, but I was with a group.

I had recently heard it was closed, but I just checked and it is indeed still open.

Perhaps I need to go there and report back?

I have been there once and thought it was on-par with Village Pizza in Athens...aka, you're not missing much. The crusts looked "too perfect" (not in a good way), almost like a pre-made crust or pizza you'd find at an arcade/bowling alley with all the holes in the bottom...if that makes sense. I really wanted to like it since the atmosphere is kind of cool and diner-ish, but it was just average, IMHO. My last visit was over a year ago, so things may have changed.

Wait, what does holes in the bottom mean?

Does that conclusively say one thing or another?

"Holes in the bottom," itself, does not reveal anything about the freshness and/or authenticity of a pizza crust - it is more related to the style of pizza crust. Many of the pre-made pizza crusts do have "holes in the bottom" but so do many of the thin, cracker-like crusts. The perforations prevent large bubbles from forming in the dough, which pushes all of the ingredients to the sides. I worked in a large pizza chain for five years and I made fresh dough every day. The dough for the thin crust pizza was always perforated.

Where is Pie in the Sky located?

And has anyone mentioned the new place near the new Madison Target? I forget what it's called. My wife wants to go there, according to the SIL & BIL, it's supposed to be great. Comments about it?

Thanks,

I pass because I do not prefer that style of pizza crust, and as Dirt Grinder said, many pre-made crusts do have the holes.
