Youre exactly right...Dr. King did not march through Mexico; Niether did Gandhi.
I dont think that has much to do with the use of non-violent protest. You may wish protests to "go away", but the reality is King's and Gandhi's example is not "just gonna go away"...
Their non-violent philosophy will not and should not “go away.” However, illegal aliens have no right to even be here, and are not entitled to the same rights and privileges as citizens and legal residents. Therefore, their “civil disobedience” is simply another display of arrogance, insolence, gall, and delusional sense of entitlement. This only serves to open more eyes to their invasion, as evidenced by the awakening of millions after their 2006 entitlement marches. It takes a heck of a lot of nerve to live in a country illegally and DEMAND anything.
Again, let illegals and their supporters exercise their non-violent, civil disobedience in their countries of origin. Let them make demands from their governments, not ours. We owe them absolutely nothing.
By the way, my only “wish” is for illegals to “go away,” and the sooner the better.

Why on Earth are you comparing MLK and Gandhi to these illegals again?
People who oppose illegal and criminal behavior will not "go away" either.

One can argue that illegal immigration is wrong, and that illegal aliens students protesting is wrong...but to say that the adoption of non-violent protest is an insult to Dr.King...is at best a stretch.
Hearing and reading the words cast at Dr. King by his own countrymen is an insult. To be Assinated in the country we worked to change is an insult...
And, seeing thousands of ingrate foreign invaders marching in our streets, carrying foreign flags, as they demand to be accommodated, is indeed the height of insulting behavior, regardless of whose philosophy they espouse.
This gets under my skin because generally [which means not all], mexican people where I grew up, have routinely displayed absolutely no interest whatsoever in associating with or the concerns of Afro-Americans. They have their own ethnocentric agendas to perpetrate. Then here is the audacity to pimp a cause that means so much to black people.
I mean, if they had the least amount of respect first for themselves, Dr. King, Afro-Americans or this country's immigration laws and culture, they would never think of using the civil rights struggle as a skateboard for their arrogant invasion.
Yeah, yeah. I know there are also plenty of black people who are not nice either.
But thats another thread. And as far as I know, there are not any Afro-American
immigration controversies going on invloving blacks exploiting Ceasar Chavez
to prove their point.

Thank you!
Unlike illegals, Black Americans didn’t need to exploit the “causes” of others, because the issues were legitimate and could be judged on their own merit.

Why would I compare MLK and Gandhi to illegals? I said...again, that illegal aliens students have adpoted the non-violent protest examples of MLK and Gandhi.
It was a kinda simple statement...I dont how you confused... "adopting" and "comparing"?

If Illegals actually had the rights of African Americans and were legally entitled to the same rights as any/every Legal US Citizen has, then why is there even an Immigration issue??
This tells me the illegals claims of entitlement doesn't match the fine print in our laws and constitution and the polititians are well aware of this.
If it did match, this would have been cleared up years ago. The US Government would have seen to that.

Yeah talk to Obama, if he has his way, all illegals would be made legal! then what do we do. Think we hate things now, just wait, it would be hell.

I dont know that every protest or protester claims to have adopted the practices of Dr. King. These students made that claim. to lump all protesters together is kinda simplistic...but if it helps you in minimalizing their claim...so be it.
