Unfortunately, too many have been unfairly executed for crimes they did not commit. However, when there is irrefutable evidence to convict for such a heinous crime, I would prefer we not waste tax dollars on life in prison, or costly years on death row. They should be summarily executed. I believe we should give them the same level of consideration they gave their victims, which is NONE.

The innocent people who were executed all had evidence against them that people thought was irrefutable.

When someone brutally rapes a minor and then smashes her head to pieces I take great joy in seeing the rapist/murderer killed

There is now one less sick SOB who will never, ever threaten anyone again.......

This was obama's stance on the death penalty *BEFORE* he started his 2012 re-election campaign:

I personally think the world would be better without anyone who takes joy in people being killed. That's fine, you have your justifications and like I said I'm not going to lose much sleep over one less murderer out there. But the mentality just seems too similar between people who both follow the line of A) find reason a person should be dead, B) make that person dead, C) justify your sick joy in that person being dead.

All those articles called him a Mexican national. Finally we learn he is an illegal.

Did he repeat the words?:

..."I am sorry for everything I have done," Leal said at the Huntsville facility before he was executed. "I have hurt a lot of people. Let this be final and be done. I take the full blame for this." Leal then shouted "Viva Mexico," followed by "I'm ready warden, let's get the show on the road."...

Yes he repeated the words.

"One more thing," he said as the drugs began taking effect. Then he shouted twice, "Viva Mexico!"

What point are you trying to make? Yes, he also uttered those words BEFORE he shouted, Viva Mexico twice ending with I'm ready warden, etc. I am just curious about the Viva Mexico part when he had been living in this country for 36 years albeit illegally. He couldn't even have remembered Mexico since he was brought here when he was 2 years old. So why the allegiance to Mexico?

Or maybe he likes Mexico. Pretty weird to shout out your allegiance as you die, but hey, nationalism does terrible things to people's minds. Amirite ppl
