A few cents higher... If you don't have people to package the meat you have to raise wages, which means you'll help pay for those raised wages in the Supermarket when you buy your meat.
Thats B.S, anyone can get a degree. Everyone can go to college, JC's charge what. $20 per credit?
Even if that were true (I've never seen tuition rates that low), who's going to pay the bills if you're at school all day? Not everyone gets to live with mommy and daddy.

And, if everyone gets a degree (I think in the U.S., only 25% have a 4-year degree now), where are the JOBS going to be for all of those people? We have mostly low-paying jobs. The median HOUSEHOLD income in the U.S. is only about $45,000.
They've even been outsourcing the work of Radiologists - doctors! They send the x-rays by computer, to be read somewhere in India or something. They did it here at my hospital, until they were caught and didn't do it anymore, since people were up-in-arms, not only about the jobs going, but about the confidentiality!

A lot of people with college degrees do jobs that don't require a degree. I work as a database developer...some companies require a degree in computer science for this job, but it would be utterly useless. Knowledge of finance and business administration is much more useful. A lot of companies don't know anything about hiring techies.

I doubt a finance and business admin person would know anything about:
3rd normal form, indexing, joins, unions, cascade deletes...etc.
Yet in Computer Science you take multiple classes revolving around SQL and Database theory.
If I were managing a database developer, I would want the Comp Sci degree.
My company requires either Comp Sci or Engineering discipline.
I see the roofers, construction industry, and the agriculture sector is struggling in Oklahoma. Other states are economically concerned about passing laws after seeing what has happened to Oklahomans. For example if they pass an anti-immigration law in Kansas, the meatpacking industry would be in serious trouble, resulting in you paying much more in the supermarket for meat. Arizona is going to say goodnight come Jan. 1.
Sooooo, why are you so concerned about us? I live here in Arizona where it is still 'politically correct' to be a flag waving American (whether nativeborn or naturalized).
We will be just fine.
