First they got in line and came legally. Second they came to a country needing them because we were expanding both industrially and geographically. Third, they came to work not freeload. Those European immigrants came to America seeking opportunity to work hard and succeed on their own. They were not seeking handouts and free benefits. They came and contributed to the success of America. The modern illegal comes and contributes to the decline. The European immigrants of the past did not come to have others pay their way. We have enough welfare recipients here now. We don't need to import more.
Immigrating is supposed to be a tool for the hard working to find opportunity. It was not supposed to be a tool for the illegal invaders to become parasites. It is also a tool that could be used by a nation to increase it's productivity. It was never intended to drain a nation of resources with zero benefit.
Modern politicians use it as a way to increase the influx of the downtrodden. They think these poor and uneducated welfare recipients will always vote for bigger government. The politicians are rich enough to be immune to the crime, poverty, disease and filth many of these third world immigrants bring with them.
Don't compare the invited hard working legal immigrants of the past with the illegal invaders coming over now. They are not the same.
If you are in favor of enforcing laws, that does include immigration laws, right? I am good with hitting it hard, loading them up when apprehended and sending them home, anchor babies in tow.
I wonder why the US government does not hold their countries' leaders accountable for the untenable, corrupt and genocidal conditions those immigrants are fleeing from. It's not the peoples's fault they have to run away to find safety. They are just trying to stay alive.
Sanctions are on Russia so why not Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, I forgot some. Is it because we do essential trade with them?

Are you proposing leaving the anchor babies here when the illegal alien parent gets deported? If they don't have any family who is a US citizen or legal immigrant, then they will go into the foster care system which is already overburdened.

Technically these anchors aren't U.S. citizens anyway. It's only been via a PC policy that they have been deemed so.
You're right, what kind of parent gets deported but won't take their kids with them? This is just a lame argument to allow these invaders and their kids to remain on our soil crying about the "separation of families" thingy.

Eagle Pass, Texas / Seco Mines, Texas......ICE is assisting BP. My hotel is full of State Police from Texas, ICE, Border Patrol , and the National Guard. I work for ICE. We have been mandated to come to the Southern Border to assist with this mess and chaos.

I must have done it the wrong the last 12 years with CBP because I deported or ER’ed a lot of illegal aliens with American-born children
