By virtue of being born poor, they have carte blanche to break the law?
Who said that? Not me... I'm just saying there are incentives in place for the illegals to come here. You can't blame them, even though it's against the law. I'm not saying they aren't culpable, I'm saying it's perfectly rational for them to come here. The government is the problem. If they enforced the laws, there wouldn't be any issue. As I said before, those who focus on the illegals and forget about how the government is at fault tend to be racist.

Sorry Junior, but to elaborate on my point - to me a leftist is someone on the far left, not necessarily anyone left leaning. The far left refuses to call illegal immigrants illegal. That is a fact that was observed during the marches held about 2 years ago. I made that comment simply because someone was asked why nothing will be done with this situation and responded that the leftists were a group that would never let it happen. The reason why they would never let it happen is because they refuse to label this as illegal. You can come down from your grandstand now oh righteous one.

And thanks for validating my entire point with your tone, proclamations that I was being a "righteous one" and managing to forward a theory that there is some sort of organized leftist brigade that can somehow make laws on the books dissappear. They can march all they want, as you stated, but it does not change the law, which I was encouraging we enforce. We can disagree without being insulting.

Who is forwarding a theory? It is a fact - the far left refuses to call illegal immigrants by that name, choosing to just call them immigrants. There is no theory here, nor is anyone stating an organized leftist brigade is trying to change laws. I should have elaborated in my initial post for those of you who enjoy confrontation and would (and did) make an issue out of it. Many of them do obey the law while they are here. That statement gets to the heart of my point, demonizing these people leads to broad statement like "they are all law breakers". That leads to community resentment and that leads to the attack we all know about it.

Who said they aren't breaking the law? I think all anyone said is that it's understandable why they might break the law to sneak here and achieve a better life..which is why more effort needs to be put into taking away their incentives to come here, in addition to sealing the border.
People on LI break laws everyday..have you ever driven around a car making a left turn by going on the shoulder? You're breaking the law. Ever gone 1mph over the speed limit? Breaking the law.
There aren't armed groups of thugs looking to kill you for those offenses, though. I think that's the point here. Entering the country illegally is a crime, and the law should be enforced. It's not a crime punishable by death, though.
That crimes go unpunished, doesn't make them less criminal.
I like that death punishment thing, for entering the country illegally....it would definitely put a damper on a lot of dreams, and probably work...after, of course, a few, illustrative carrying out of those death sentences.
