what you say would make sence IF the illegals were not wanting to get in the same line for jobs as those who HAVE not BROKEN OUR LAWS.. Let them apply for jobs that are approved as NOT being jobs americans citizens want..I doubt these illegals want to pick fruit dont you. lol

Obviously, since only 3% of illegals are picking crops.

The immigrant that we all want to come to the US is educated and easily assimilated. They become one of us and contribute swiftly. Did it ever occur to you that this is a DREAMIE by definition?

You don't understand why you move heaven and earth to support your best and brightest no matter what their background? Doesn't matter what their education or skills are. They aren't here legally in our country. They need to get behind other well educated immigrants still waiting in their homelands to come here. They don't get to jump the line.

They were perfectly legal and we made them go home. And lost billions and billions in technology transfer.

And the DREAMIES are far better bets for us then those educated abroad. Do you feel we have some fairness duty or something to take the immigrants in some order? You don't really believe that do you?

We can sort them by brains, by color of hair, by age, by time in the US. The criteria is ours. If we rationally decided to give priority to those with college degrees raised in the US you think that is wrong? Sheesh? I got to hear this one.

The only thing racist is the belief that you should be allowed to move here in violation of our immigration based on your ethnicity. If Americans want to let people immigrate legally we should do so on a case by case basis, not by granting mass amnesty to Mexicans with a community college degree in ethnic studies.

We should pick and choose who gets to stay not them.

You understand that there's a huge difference between a 30 year old illegal with a handful of college credits and someone we've decided to allow to stay legally?

If industry decides that there's a shortage in certain professions they should train up natives not import people to take those jobs in the middle of a huge recession.

We want immigrants who obey our laws and contribute to our society, not a 25 year old illegal who wants a free college degree because of his ethnicity.

How about we sort them by what's best for America? And what's best for America is not some Dreamie who's been here for years in flagrant and unrepentant violation of our immigration laws. If that were not true then California wouldn't be such a nightmare right now.

Ridiculous that these pro-illegals seem to think that we are lacking in educated, job seeking Americans, isn't it? Or for that matter that we have a shortage of blue collared, less educated Americans. How do they come up with this stuff? The only reason that employers hire illegal aliens is to increase their profits, not because we have a shortage of willing and qualified American workers.

Even a cursory reading of the employment forum here would indicate just how dire the job market is right now. I've heard that true unemployment rates are nearly 20%. In the middle of that why should we worry about the economic needs and desires of illegals of any age?

I do admit that in certain very specific cases a few exceptions should be made here and there. An illegal who has placed in the Intel Science Talent competition or earned a place on our national sports teams or started a business that employs Americans or some similar outstanding accomplishment should be allowed to stay. But the ordinary illegal who has merely completed a handful of college classes here and there should not be allowed to skip the immigration lines.

I swear we're in the middle of the worst recession in decades and all illegals can think about is what we should do for THEM.

Their selfishness almost astonishes me. Almost.

What astonishes me even more are our citizens who are advocating for them and I don't just mean the "Dreamie" type of illegal.

Actually the unemployment rate for college graduates is not high.

So you would take other legal immigrants over DREAMIES? You can't see what is wrong with that?

Set down your spec for the ideal foreign immigrant. Now who comes closer...the Dreamie or the 75 year old mother of a Mexican-American?
