Ahhh yes... The latest supportive quote from the Qu'ran of course....

but then there's this one, direct from the barnyard animals who depend on a higher power in order to exist...

"Baahh...Ahhhhh....Bah h h h!"

"Ba-Gawhkkkk! Baaahhhh-Gawhhhhkkkk!"

"Mooo!"

Sounds familiar to me! Proof of God's power and presence!

Creation of man from "Nutfah"
"Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! From what thing did He create him? From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him and then set him in due proportion." (Surat 'Abasa (He Frowned):17-19)

Actually, neither Arabs nor Islam have been that significant in the advancement of science.

Their small contribution is much over-hyped and largely stolen from the other cultures.

Arches were copies of Byzantine churches, etc.

Hmmm. This is Islamic science, huh? Female semen "drops" huh... So you believe this?

Are you participating in this discusion, or are you just proselytizing? Were you able to understand Dr. Tyson's presentation, (my post, #5, above, page 1) souhilo1?

They had their reign of terror. It will never be repeated or allowed. Only illiterate, benighted and culturally backward societies are susceptible to such idiocy and madness.

I'd think that the Mullahs wouldn't be too pleased if it did not suit them that a western professor provides them with some welcome propaganda.

"Consider the following verse referring to sperm:

He is created from a drop (of sperm) emitted-- Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs. (Qur'an 86:6-7)

Clearly this verse is incorrect, and clearly it has origins in earlier theories. First of all, for sperm to originate between the back and the ribs would mean that it comes from the kidneys! We now know that semen is produced in the testicles, but people in Muhammad's time did not know this. Eleven centuries before Muhammad, the Greek physician Hippocrates theorized that sperm passed through the kidneys into the penis. For centuries this was an accepted (and incorrect) belief of the origins of sperm."

Islamic Science: Does Islamic literature contain scientific miracles?

It is worth reading both side of the quranic embryology discussion and it will become painfully clear that Dr Moore's placing the service of his science under the feet of the Quran has only made him look a laughing - stock.
Hi AREQUIPA ...
What kidneys ?
May I ask of you please not to use Anti-Islamic sites as you ask me not to use creationist sites .
Simply ...
The verse in arabic said :
"خلق من ماء دافق يخرج من بين الصلب والترائب "
In Englesh :
"Created of water squirts out from between the backbone spine and the ribs "
The verse was not referring to where the sperm comes from , actually it was referring to something more accurate and comprehensive in a very few words ..
Since the formation of any Embryo needs to be done by two genders( not only male sperm , humans and animals knows that since the beginning of time ) ... and Since two genders means gonads (ovaries and testes) in order for Embryo to be created or made .
The verse referred amazingly to the cellular origins of the gonads (ovaries and testes) the genital tuber which found in the dorsal region of the embryo in front of the backbone ( between the mid-spine and almost against the bottom of the ribs ) before Embryo determined by gender (as it shows clearly in the picture below) :

That is why Dr. Moore said , “I was amazed at the scientific accuracy of these statements which were made in the 7th century C.E.,” .
He was not referring to where the sperm comes from !!!
There for we don't need to talk about Greek physician as they were referring to a totally different wrong thing .
In order to understand the correct meaning of the words you must be versed on Arabic grammar .
Speaking Arabic Language is not enough .
P.S :I bet no greek or chinese or any race physician in the world BACK THEN knows a damn thing about it

Most religions have that potential though. We must keep a wary eye on them all in order to prevent it - not just Islam. I have not seen many religions that are devoid of adherants who would happily see us thrown back into ignorance - dark ages - or even oblivion.
