Yea. Stay busy. Stay employed, even if the job is "beneath you".

Sitting on ones arse sending resumes' does nothing.

One second. Many employers won't hire anyone not currently employed and then complain that they can't find any qualified workers.

How does that interfere with anything?

Many people need skills training or updated skills in order to find a job. This is why the unemployment office offers grants!!!! They also offer on-site classes for things like MS Word and Excel -- not one-hour workshops, but scheduled classes with a commitment to finish.

That's only a option if someone lives with family or their companion. That's not a option for someone who lives alone.

If you get laid off, take ANY job while looking for something in your field.

Network and make friends with people outside of your field while you're employed.

Your mind is on paying bills and finding a job not studying for certain classes
