So wait a minute, faxing a resume is not easier than a long online application??????????? LOL
This assumes that:
- you have a working printer (mine currently is crap)
- you have ink (currently out and have some on order)
- you have a landline to send (no landline, cell only)
- that the receiver will actually get it and it will be legible (few faxes even come out clear enough to be read seriously)
A few years back I needed to fax my college transcripts to apply for a federal job. After I printed them out at home, I had to go to the nearest Staples to fax. First, I had to wait in line, then there was a problem with the fax. All said and done it cost me like $8 to fax that stuff.
Some may feel that waiting is delaying their job search process which is why it's good if you don't have to leave the house.
When I was unemployed for 9 months, I was looking for any reason to leave the house. Sitting in front of a computer at home, all day long, searching for jobs got so depressing.
I took up jogging and was doing 5 miles a day. I'd run to Target for any little thing. I'd walk the dog around the neighborhood.
Leaving the house, for anything, was the highlight of my days.
