Unemployed folks should be looking for work , at least, 40 hours per week.the same amount a full time employee works.

Waiting for an available pc should not be an issue when you have all your time free.

Some may feel that waiting is delaying their job search process which is why it's good if you don't have to leave the house.

It may be, but it is also good that employers need not waste their valuable time collecting, reviewing, and filing paper applications.

This assumes that:
- you have a working printer (mine currently is crap)
- you have ink (currently out and have some on order)
- you have a landline to send (no landline, cell only)
- that the receiver will actually get it and it will be legible (few faxes even come out clear enough to be read seriously)

A few years back I needed to fax my college transcripts to apply for a federal job. After I printed them out at home, I had to go to the nearest Staples to fax. First, I had to wait in line, then there was a problem with the fax. All said and done it cost me like $8 to fax that stuff.

Faxes are a pain in the ASS!

When I was unemployed for 9 months, I was looking for any reason to leave the house. Sitting in front of a computer at home, all day long, searching for jobs got so depressing.

I took up jogging and was doing 5 miles a day. I'd run to Target for any little thing. I'd walk the dog around the neighborhood.

Leaving the house, for anything, was the highlight of my days.
