Well, first, our boat/trailer are now at a Storage in Boulder City. Arrived yesterday evening.

Next will be us, with our boots, hats and Wrangler Jeans! Looking very forward December's NFR aka National Finals Rodeo 10-day run, the free equestrian events thru the year at South Point, Buffet Breakfast at MGM and South Point and Buffet Dinner at South Point. Love South Point's Prime Rib!

But, we are continuing to pack things and getting ready for a moving company estimate. Finding an apartment to rent hasn't been easy, but we will find one.

We know how hot it is there right now, but "heat" is just part of visiting or living there during a few summer months. What will really be nice is leaving the 41 inches of snowfall and below zero temps that happen here (Northern Colorado) in the winter.

Now, if by chance we find out we simply can't handle the heat, within the first year there, Plan B will be to move to Reno or Carson City. If we do that, will sell our boat and our "boating days" will be over. Reno has a very nice 10-day PRCA rodeo w/a purse of $800,000. Whether Reno or Carson City, could take a nice weekend trip to Lake Tahoe and the casinos there. Compared to here, at 41 inches of snow, Reno only gets about 20 inches. Definitely better!

So, very close to happening, I-25 to I-70 to I-15 and we will be saying "here we come!"

Having read your posts about your desires and needs and ruminations over the years, it sounds like you have figured out a plan that will let you land in a place for your dreams.

Good luck to you.

Congrats! It's hot but it's very livable. March, April, May, October, November are all great. This year June didn't 100 until the end of the month. July/August are HOT. There is AC everywhere and living here, at least for us, has been truly awesome!

Congratulations! My sister lives in Henderson and loves it. I recently visited to "case" the place for a future move when I retire. I think you'll enjoy it there.

NFR isn't the only place to wear your jeans, boots and hats to, there is also the Cowboy Mounted Shooting finals which just happen to be this weekend, https://www.cmsaevents.com/assets/ev...8/schedule.pdf

The mountains in Tahoe get a lot of snow but the valley which is Reno doesn’t normally get 20 inches of snow. I have lived here 26 years. In all that time we have only had what I consider 5 real winters. The COL is cheaper in Vegas than Reno. I hope you are happy there.

Now, a question: Are a lot of folks moving to south Las Vegas (Paradise/Enterprise) and Henderson? Just how popular are those areas?

Living in Henderson would be quite a bit closer to where our boat is than apartments east of South Point Hotel/Casino. Thing is, South Point has a nice equestrian arena where many free equestrian events happen. But, to get the kind of apartment we have to have, as in 2 bedroom/2 bath/1st floor and with a garage, it's almost impossible.
