if i had a million i would still drive a Honda but have the motor tuned

and have a house thats just enough for me and my family.
and put money away for my son's college and enough for him after college.

back to the topic since you guys ressurected it

To me Las Vegas has its own problems just like any other big city in America or any country. But its also what you make of what you have, and how you raise your kids. Be there for your son/daughter and stop blaming the school for your lack of guidance with your kids!!

For you to complain about vegas when you dint make it in vegas is just bullcrap.

Las Vegas is NOT JUST THE STRIP..it goes beyond the strip! Would you say Los Angeles is just Disney Land or Universal Studios? I dont think so GRRR!

Las Vegas is NOT the problem...Its You People that have problems and say its the City you live in.

i Love Vegas.

hi pink

Making and losing a million bucks in 5 years..I would still have most of it by now. It all depends on the person for sure. I live quite frugally but comfortably.
I know, i know, i'm helping to revive a dead thread..but i wasn't the first one.
big deal if there are half-naked billboards, people paid the billboard company to put up what they wanted, if thats what they want to advertise that's what they can advertise...plus what is so strange about it, are you afraid that your kids will learn that they have skin?

I will keep this short and sweet. I was born and raised in Vegas. Have lived here 41 years. Am raising my 2 kids here (current ages 11 and 16) on a moderate salery.
My son has a 4.8 GPA, attends a acceleraed accedemic program at a magnet school. He plays baseball and tennis.
My daughter, aslo, a straight A student. Starting middle school this fall. She dances and plays tennis. Both kids are well adjusted and happy.
True, Vegas is NOT the town I grew up in. It has changed drastically both positively and negatively. It's a big city now, with all that goes along with big city existance.
I can tell you that living here or being born and raised here, has NOTHING to do with whether or not one becomes a gambling addict, gang member or drugee. That is up to the individual to make that choice. As a parent, I, like any other parent, anyplace else in the country, instill the same morals, work ethics, self-respect and dicipline in my children.
