Is anyone going to the Age of Chivalry - Las Vegas Renaissance Festival - Home Page? If so, you can get a free ticket at Your Connection To Nightlife And Events In Las Vegas – spyonvegas.com for today only.

I went to the lvredfair one year and it was a lot of fun!
thank you so much for this information.... if you remember, my wife and i are committed to animal protection, rescue, etc.... I called the family fur and fun... I will have a booth doing airbrush tattoos there and HALF the proceeds will go to the NSPCA.. (the other will cover most of my supplies (ink, etc)) This is a very good cause.

It's that time of year again, the Aliante community wide garage sale saturday and sunday, Oct. 8 and 9. From 7am-3pm.
The boundaries of Aliante are Grand Teton to the north, Clayton to the east, Centennial Parkway to the south and Decatur to the west. All of the neighborhoods that are gated and participating will have the gates open.
If anyone can find me this weekend, I will give you $1 and a free book. I will be all over the place, so good luck with that. lol

I think El Dorado is also having their garage sale this weekend, and maybe Waterfall community too. You can generally find out more by going onto Craigslist since many people post in there to get more traffic.

I went to the Renaissance fair today with my fiance. All in all it was a good time and enjoyable. Something funny did happen though. As soon as we came in and walked for about 10 seconds I noticed two guys in costumes screaming at each other, cussing and getting in each others face. I thought they were just putting on a really convincing show until a 'wench' came up and told them to stop it or the police at the event would notice. Both of them had to be dragged off by other people in costumes just to break it up.

Just got back from my retirement scouting mission in Tucson. If I decide to retire in AZ, Tucson it shall be, where smaller is better, as opposed to Phoenix: bigger is better. Now I understand why real estate prices are higher in Tucson: you get what you pay for! And the mountain scenery is far prettier around Tucson than PHX.

What was so refreshing was the lack of cinder block walls, who needs them!! (Las Vegans: let's tear em' down!) It's a darker city, for sure, as my CD.com friend pointed out to me, as there's that big telescope atop that mountain there, no lit up skyline, so the city tries to keep the lighting to a minimum, even streetlights!

The proximity to Nogales, for me, is an additional amenity, as I spent an afternoon walking around that city, and riding on the city bus to the bus station to see my roommate off to Guadalajara. Felt safe every minute I was there. Obviously, the media scares haven't detered a number of seniors from going down there, and I talked to a couple of senior ladies there for dental work and buying drugs at the pharmacies, which I did, too.

They've got some praiseworthy historic districts in Tucson, particularly the Sam Hughes district, with their abundance of old, pricey, adobe and red brick houses. Even with the RE downturn, those prices are untouchable to me.

What a grueling drive back. Left Tucson at 3am and pulled into Vegas at around 11am. No more, no more, won't, can't, refuse to do it again! And I took my ferret along!
