While Trick or Treating with my kids today I saw the same thing. An Acura on four paving stones missing the wheels. The guy said it happened this week between 1 and 4 AM. We're in North Babylon.

guess they've moved onto the next town......so that's 3 different towns in the past month and 5/6 cars that I've heard of , stealing around $18 - $20,000 in tires and rims.....since most have averaged to cost around $3k each.....

Some racket......I really wonder what they are getting for these....obviously not what its costing to replace, but still.....

It really does suck....the only thing to do is just beware....I'm surprise something hasnt been the news yet to let people know.....and be on the look out....who have these types of cars......possibly to prevent it ya know.....

I hope these Shmucks get caught soon, I'd love to bash in their skulls with the same paving stones. I'm wondering if any of the other victims had wheel locks on their cars?

P.S. If you spell shmuck the proper way it gets asterisked

02-03 Maxima was a very nice car except for those lights. 1 minute? They used to do those jobs in 15 seconds when youd be sitting at a traffic light.

I had an 02 Maxima, nice car. They stole the headlights, 3 times, out of my driveway in bellmore. It causes a lot of damage, they take a crowbar to the headlight, marring the bumper, bending and scratching the hood and removing the light. Total cost each time 2500-3000 depending on damage. And you know what they would get for it? $100-$500 depending on market conditions.

1 time alarm went off, 1 time they cut the wires to the horn etc. Since it really only takes 1 minute, the car alarm is useless.

also I loved the fact that I now have 3 accidents on my CARFAX due to this.

Sounds like this is an epidemic. I'm assuming you've contacted the police?

Wow, thats crazy, i heard a very similar story. A friend of mine who lives in Lindenhurst went out side and found that someone had stolen pavers out of his garden. Hes like, man, who would steal bricks?!?!? savages! He calls the neighbor to find out if anything had happened to him, turns out the crooks were using the pavers to hold up the neighbors car. Craziness.
