Try website Goldstar.com and choose the Los Angeles territory. Pretty nice things like cooking classes, walking tours, concerts, spa days and the tickets are close to 50% off. We all like to have a good time, but I also like to save a little money while doing so. The website Living Social might have some good ideas for you too, on what's current in L.A.

3rd street promenade, Americana at brand, hollywood and highland, santa monica place mall good for shopping also nice to visit but way too expensive is Rodeo Dr.

also a great driving self guided tour would be driving from Santa Monica (Ocean) through Wilshire Blvd all the way to Downtown LA, in that tour you will see the Pacific Ocean, Santa Monica Pier, 3rd street, santa monica place, UCLA, westwood, wilshire corridor, century city, beverly hills, rodeo dr, miricale mile, LACMA, la brea tar pits, cbs televisin city, the grove, farmers market, petersen automotive museum, koreatown, macarthur park, westlake, Downtown LA, staples center, grammy musuem, LA live, US Bank Tower, Walt Disney concert hall, Music Center, Historic Core, LA Central Library, and much more.

good restraunts with great views of LA include 24/7 restaurant in the roof of the Standard hotel in DTLA, and Perch also rooftop patio restraunt overlooking downtown and pershing square, and by the way they are not very expensive.

I'm finally here!!!!! Went to Santa Monica Farmer's Market right after I landed at LAX, went to Target and Trader Joe's on Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood and I'm exhausted. Ordered some pizza (didn't feel like cooking today) and now unpacking and getting ready for tomorrow. This three hour time difference has hit me. I will post my impressions of LA and the places I visit that are on my list in this thread. Thanks to all who provided suggestions over the past couple of months I really appreciate it. I'm always looking for interesting things to do while i'm out there so if there are any other suggestions please post them. I'll be visiting Hollywood Farmer's Market this week for sure.
