I've also noticed that if you post anything remotely negative about the place or god forbid ask about "employment" opportunities, the thread gets cut down immediately. Employment questions are answered by the same people over and over again, but yet EVERYONE IS SO HAPPY AND THRILLED TO BE LIVING IN TENNESSEE. How can you be happy living someplace where the majority of people are living in trailers?

There are definitely pluses and minuses to any place one might live. Is L.A. "the" worst? For air pollution, yes.
New Jersey is the worst for property taxes. Alaska is the worst for... (thinking) Cold? I mean if you want to love a place, even if it's East Bunglefreak Arkansas, you'll find stats in some area to bear out how great it is, and if you want to hate it, even if it's Paris in the springtime, you'll whine about people peeing in front of the Eiffel Tower.
No place is all good or all bad. I'm beginning to discover that really, what you "love" about a place is something indefinable that just sort of lives in your heart. And BECAUSE you love it, you find the good stats.
Likewise for a place you hate...you'll find the bad stats.
I'm guilty of this too...on both counts.
Some places just hit'cha in the right or wrong way.

I agreed to let my husband have a 2 year stint in NC. I promised I would behave and not move back to CA before the 2 years was up.
Well, it has now been over 2 years and I have started packing my bags....problem is that DH isn't quite so hasty.....he loves it here....I hate it here.
There is no place like LA in my opinion. It is "home" to me and I love it.
