I go in. It is beatiful and feels so nice to escape the hot sand. I am one of those people who likes the cold ocean because it actually cools you off.

I agree. Stay below 4th street. Orange is not.

I live in Bluff Park. Lovely old historic area. It is one of the nicer areas of LB, at least from an architectural standpoint. That said, we do have problems on occasion with cars being broken into and the like, but nothing too bad.

That's decent, but I wouldn't venture too much west of Orizabo

Default I drove across country last spring

I drove across country from NYC last spring. Went straight out on I-80, changed to I-15 just east of Salt Lake City. I spaced it out as follows.

Day 1: I made it to Cleveland, OH.

Day 2: I made it to the Quad Ciites (Rock Island, IL, Davenport, IA, Moline, IA).

Day 3: I made it to Lexington, NE

Day 4: I made it to St. George, UT.

Day 5: I made it to LA. I stayed in an Extended Stay America in Woodland Hills (The Valley) . Again for 45 dollars a night.

I stayed in pretty decent hotels for around 40 dollars a night. I booked through Priceline. Ironically, the worst place I stayed was in the boonies (Lexington, NE). I wound up at a Motel 6 there.

Cleveland and Quad Cities I was at Holiday Inns and I was at a Ho Jo's in
St. George.
