Yes. They suck. I refuse to support any professional sports organization, from any sport, be it baseball, basketball, golf, stock car racing, whatever, whose fans destroy an entire city-TWICE-when they win games or championships. This happened both in '09 and '10, and if the Lakers win again in "11 it will probably happen then too. God help us if they would have lost.

Besides, I hate basketball anyway. How boring. Who wants to see a bunch of guys throw a stupid ball at each other anyway? I have more fun watching paint dry.
Either we're all the better for knowing how some dude hates the sport a thread is predicated on, or iLife needs to get one.

Just to resurrect the thread, any thought on the loosing streak? Is this the lull before the play offs? Are they thinking they can win a title like this, or just happy with the 2nd spot for now?

Anyone else around my age (between 25-27 and early 30's) who has completely lost interest in the NBA and basketball?

I use to LOVE the NBA in the 80's and 90's. But after about '96 or 97, I just can't get into it. Save for a few series, like the lakers/celtics rivalry, this era of basketball seems weak, watered down, and completely lacking what the 80's and 90's had.

I miss the Seattle Supersonics. That whole era of basketball. Remember the Trailblazers of the 90's? Terry Porter, Drexler, Kersey, Buck Williams. I miss those kinds of well rounded teams.

Are you sure it's not just the short shorts you miss?

Bynum has chronic knee issues and would not be marketable, I think forever. They just have to make the best from this crew. Less minutes for Kobe and everybody else has to stop watching Kobe and just play basketball.

That sums it up, huh?!

I'm beyond disappointed with the Lakers. Their erratic play throughout the regular season was bad enough--but it could be explained away, you know, "they're saving themselves for the *REAL* season!"--but what they did in the playoffs was disgraceful. (I didn't even watch one second of today's game. I decided to spare myself the agony of watching them fall to Dallas in a 0-4 sweep. I lived in Dallas--and hated every second of it, and hated the classless Mavericks fans--and just couldn't bear to see the Lakers lose to them of all teams. Ugh.)

I don't know what Dr Buss and Mitch Kupchak are going to do over the summer, but Magic Johnson suggested blowing up the team...and I suspect that's exactly what's going to happen. I guess we'll have to stay tuned...

Magic is correct. And Dwight Howard would do quite nicely, for starters.
