I think it’s just corporate C-level folks wanting to present an imagine of workers being present and engaged. I was at the main office a couple weeks ago and it was quiet with a lot of empty cubes from the hybrid WFHers, meanwhile the C-level guys were all present. I guess after weeks of them looking out o f their big office at empty cubes they just finally had enough. Apparently they would bring in important visitors and would frequently find it to be an empty building.

My office was never like that since it’s lab-centric, but everyone has to change.

Fidelity doubling the forced amount of in office starting in September. Given the long lead time on this, this seems more of an attempt to get people to quit but I think they are serious.

A study released last month from research and consulting firm Gartner found that three specific types of employees are more likely to leave their companies when opportunities to work from home decrease: high-performing employees, millennials, and women.

Which is exactly why letting people WFH in the first place was such a bad idea.
