Al Pacino in Glengarry Glen Ross. I don't like liars, cheats, and sneaks, but that performance of his was remarkable.
I've never watched that movie, and looked at it just now on Prime Video. Not in the mood for a "downbeat, dark" movie at the moment (Prime Video's description), but I did put it on my watchlist. I'm interested in the acting of all the actors even though the subject matter isn't something I'm really all that interested in.
It wasn't you. LINCOLN is a boring movie. Not the actors' fault. It was just a boring script.
It's yet another movie where Spielberg is making movies for critics rather than audiences.
Went to see Lincoln with my grown up son.He fell asleep and I was bored rigid.we left early.. think the only film Ive actually walked out on terrible dark and boring.
I, but I have been shocked by the actors in certain scenes. The original Fritz Lang movie “M” blew me away with the trial scene. I knew of Peter Lorre from his English language films, many of which were comedies. This one was fantastic.
On the Waterfront - Marlon Brando
A Face in the Crowd - Andy Griffith
Lilies of the Field - Sidney Poitier
The Pawnbroker - Rod Steiger
To Kill a Mockingbird - Gregory Peck
Casablanca - Bogart
King and I - Yul Brenner
Orson Welles - Citizen Kane
Peter Falk I just want to see him because he’s brilliant in this role.
I never get tired of this show every scene has meaning, slower pace.
My housemate and I did that a couple years ago. We got through about 13-15 episodes. Should go back and finish. Very unique, very special show. Falk was an amazing actor.
Tom Hanks has been mentioned a lot, but I was most impressed with him in Philadelphia.
The scene where he is explaining to Denzel Washington what Maria Callas is singing, while DZ's character is bored at first but then becomes moved as he is drawn in to emotion of the moment is a great moment between two excellent actors.
Yes that was a fantastic performance, but whenever I think about it it is with a slightly sour taste because I think that Liam Neeson should have won the Academy Award for Schindler's List, rather than Hanks winning for Philadelphia.
An embarrassment of riches re quality performances that year .
Never really cared for the movie that much other than Robin Williams' performance.
