Freedom indeed is a great small town and if you like fishing that is the place to be. Except you will also get a lot of mosquitoes and other nasty flying insect varmints because of all the bogs and surface water. But to make up for the mosquitoes and other flying varmints you get lots of fascinating fire flies especially after a intense loud thunderstorm.

A good place to stay is the Freedom house Bed & Breakfast!
Never been there during the 4th of July but it ain't a far ride from Lincoln & Woodstock.

I LOVE Freedom NH. It's a beautiful little village that actually is now "larger" than it used to be. I still have friends who live there.

I've been to this event, but probably will not be able to make it this year, maybe next year. It's Freedom Old Home Week.

My parents want to retire near the Ossipee Lakes region. Looking for an older property... Not many good ones come up for sale in that area. Saw a property with Ossipee river frontage.. in a FLOOD ZONE. HA.

Carroll County is one of the nicest parts of NH IMO. It is also the most affordable (in terms of property taxes) compared to every other county in the state.

I would certainly have to agree with you about your comments on the affordability of Carroll County. Great fishing as well and sailing too!

However, if you like the North Country Coos County really rocks!!!!

Yes, Conway is a very beautiful area!

I also think Tamworth is a perfect place to be if you like fishing and just being in a very quaint small town.
