A bit early - but it won't stay but a day or so. It's only 51 here. Major cool down! Had to cover the birds & get their heater going in the aviary before they become green popsicles!

thanks for the pics

So, how much did you all get? We got about 4" in the High Rolls/Mountain Park area.

It's in the low 20s in Ruidoso and at my house I had a quarter inch of precipitation - mostly in the form of light sleet. Early morning finds no more than an inch or two of accumulated white stuff.

BEWARE: Tonight's forecast is for temps in the teens in Ruidoso, and likely in the single digits in Cloudcroft.

BE AWARE: It is forecast to warm up nicely by the weekend.

Just what we need here, more rain. Nine inches already in October!
And in my end of Colorado we only got maybe an inch of snow but you don't have to go far to see it stacked up. Colorado's front range cities are STILL getting hammered, with numerous schools and businesses closed for today, and likely Friday. Snow totals anywhere from 6 inches to 3 feet, maybe more so at Vail pass and the Eisenhower tunnel.

I know what catman means though, been through Ft. Worth lots of times, and they CAN get wicked storms at this time of the year!

None in Alamogordo, of course......with the cloud cover over Sierra Blanca, I can't tell if it's snow-capped yet.

But dang!! Time to turn on the heat and put the flannel sheets on. It's gorgeous outside...crisp, cold (36), bright blue skies, sunny....!

What a beautiful scene. BTW, Fort Worth lucked out and didn't get hammered too badly by severe weather. No hail damage! [knocks on wood]

Hey Catman, you got it as bad as we do here in Mo. 3 times in x-amount of many years that we have seen this much rain in Oct. We are getting more today and tonight with a total of 1 to 3 inches. Totals for the month has been close to 14 inches. I want some sun

Yes, this has been a cloudy and wet October in Fort Worth. I feel shortchanged because autumn is usually my favorite season, after the hot and humid summer. It's all due to the 'el Nino', they say. I hope November is better!
