I went to a viewing of the building and 2 bed units yesterday. The unit is brand new, so it's very nice, but they are indeed small. Not tiny, but I'm not so sure they're worth the price. The amenities are great though... gym, community room, bike storage, parking, semi-furnished roof with 360 views.

The rooms in the units leave much to be desired unfortunately (I must note that I currently live in a newish building in western Queens and it is huge, so my standards are skewed).

The master is approximately 15' x 12', but the PTAC units are huge and jut out of the wall, maybe 2.5', cutting your actual livable space down by quite a bit. The second room is a box (~12' x 12'), but again, the PTAC unit takes up a lot of space, so it's maybe 10' x 12'. Good closet space in both rooms. 2 bathrooms are spacious and nice. Kitchen is small but has no-name stainless appliances. Living room area is about the same size as the master, with the same PTAC issue. I did not see a unit with a balcony. If anyone wants to see the layout sketch I drew or see some pics, please DM me.

Wow thanks for all the info. Did they tell you how many square feet that apartment is? Did they give you a choice of places? I will message you, I would love to see pics. Trying to decide if it is going to be big enough for us if it happens to work out.
Thanks again!

The 2 bed/2 bath is supposedly 880 square feet. They do not give you a choice; each person/family chosen is assigned a specific unit and you either like it or you don't.

Greenhouse13 -- Sent you an email. But yup, looks like a lot of that square footage is from the large bathrooms. The poor choice of PTAC units also takes up A LOT of space that could be usable. Quite unfortunate.

I was told the lottery was over. I "won" the lottery, visited, completed all paperwork, and was accepted by Wavecrest Management. I could/would not sign a lease within 10 days, as requested by RealtyWithinReach. Recently, I called to reference the ad below was told there are apartments available (ONLY studio and 2 bedrooms). However, I was also told that now you have to go through a broker and pay 1/2 months rent. I have the phone number I was given by, if anyone wants it - email me.

REFERENCE:
2 Bed: 482 Franklin Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn | StreetEasy
Studio: 482 Franklin Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn | StreetEasy

Yea I guess they couldn't find enough people to fill them by going through the lottery. We are still in the process of the lottery but probably one of the last remaining few. We are waiting to see if we are approved by the city then will move forward. I'm not convinced the apartment will be big enough for us but think we might as well go forward at this point.

I saw on street easy where the apartments are being advertised that it still notes that you have to fall within the income brackets so does that mean everyone still has to be approved by the city? This whole thing is very confusing. I asked if we. Plus see floor plans and the rep said no, not until you are approved by the city then you have to take it or leave it within 10 days. Crazy system.

It is indeed a crazy system! It's not even that you just have to accept the apartment in 10 days, your lease MUST START by the 10th day from the date that you see the apartment or you forfeit the unit! They give you very little time to sort things out (namely getting out of your current apartment!!).

Yes you have to still be approved by the city too. However, if you have already been approved, this may depend on the time that passed since you were approved. Still learning. Crazy stuff.
