I'm looking into it as well..I've never had it before. Prices vary 130 to 260 a year. It may be worth it. My friend has it and she had a leak from her upstairs neighbor and the insurance covered a new bedroom set.
I'm going to think about, may consider getting it. Not sure yet. I can't remember but do the apartments have sprinkler system installed inside the actual apartment or just in the hallways?
Because I am thinking if they are inside the physical apartment what if they activate one day I am cooking and there's a lot of smoke or something like that and all my furniture gets ruined? or smoke comes in from someone else's apartment? I don't know how sensitive sprinklers are
There are definitely sprinklers in the apartment, but I'm not sure how sensitive they are.
I have renters insurance that is bundled with my car insurance and it runs me $130 a year. I learned my lesson 10 years ago when someone broke into my apartment and stole jewelry and a camera. You never think you need it until you do.
I just thought of something else... you know how the door only has one lock? I wonder if we can get another installed? Feel more secure you know. I would even pay to get it installed if it comes down to that.
I've seen in home depot the locks are not that expensive and getting installed shouldn't be either
I'm torn between this place (I'm approved, just need to sign the lease) and another place where I'm waiting for HPD approval. Not sure what to do. Augh!
Where is the other place? Is it a better location?

they told me the lease would be handed to me when I get the keys.
