Does anyone commute to the city? What's the commute like? The building seems super far from any transportation.

i agree. i had to turn it down cuz of that. The size is great but no other amenities. I don't rem there being a door man. In addition, there was no dishwasher or vent or microwave in the kitchen..which bothered me.no lights uner the cabinets either, Also NO utilities were included..and those windows are huge...I couldn't handle a high heat bill. Also, it was near too many factories which bothered me in terms of pollution.

The area itself seemed safe. And the apt is big. the stove and fridge were great! The view is nothing to talk about. The balcony setting was interesting.

I had no regrets turning it down.

I walk about 15 min to the W or N train on Ditmars. Or you can take the bus right downstairs on Steinway to Broadway and then take the R or M train. I prefer to walk.

Yeah I was fortunate to get low lottery numbers for both and I am very organized with my documents, with excellent credit.Regardless, I was still anxious during the process. I did turn steinway down before I found out about dean.

I think I could've adapted however, I do live a block away now from the subway and didn't want to move. I will be moving soon, as the next apt I'll be moving to will be half a block away. My commute is very very long 1.5-2hours and I'm on my feet all day at work...subway distance is very important to me.

Just a quick update for anyone still waiting to hear from Langsam or HPD. I recevied a call from Langsam on Friday saying that I've been approved and to come in and sign a lease. I told them I'm no longer interested since I just moved into a new place last month. I was up for a one bedroom at $1861.

Best of luck and congrats to all those who moved in.

No doorman, really?

Thanks for turning it down and giving someone else a chance.

The q100 Limited bus is a short walk from the building. That takes you to the Queensbridge F train station in about 20 mins. From there its a couiple of stops into midtown. Its really not bad at all in terms of proximity to a few bus routes, but if you're talking specifically about the subway then I agree, the N/W stop is a good walk away.
