I took the physical in November and still haven't gotten the results. Should I have gotten the results by now? Thanks in advance.

I took the physical around the same time as you did, they tell you right there if you passed or failed. If not you just had to look at the clock and if there was still time left on it you passed. The only ones who failed are the no shows. For the record I believe they will send us our results in the mail within a years time.

Default Why is the DSNY physical still so easy?

Rewind back to 1987. Copying and pasting parts of a NY Times article.

The Uniformed Sanitationmen's Association had originally challenged the physical test for sanitation workers, claiming that it had become too easy and was no longer competitive. The New York Supreme Court found the test valid, and an appellate court affirmed the decision. Recently, the Court of Appeals, the state's highest court, refused to hear the case, and the union has dropped its challenge, according to a spokesman for the union, Jim Grossman.

The test includes lifting and tossing 147 garbage bags weighing a total of 2,975 pounds into trash bins in 27 minutes. About 20 women who took the test had taken a special preparatory course arranged and financed by the Center for Women in Government, a nonprofit group affiliated with the State University of New York at Albany.

Of the 45,054 applicants, including 2,282 women, who took the test, 44,367 - among them 1,710 women - earned perfect scores. In August 137 were chosen by lottery and began their year's probation. At the first rung of the ladder, sanitation workers earn $23,100 a year. At the top of the scale, those who have received bonus payments and incurred average overtime can make up to $40,000 a year, Mr. Turso said.

I am not as built as the Kuai but I would have wanted to feel pain after going through the physical. Make it harder, make us earn it. I don't like things being handed to me. I want to sweat for it.

The corrupt judges who gave this ruling are at fault. It is really an outrage.
