Since you're staff, don't worry about employment letters now--actually those aren't supposed to be in your hands. The marketing agent will request those documents directly from the employer. Good luck.

For the birth certificate, the developer/marketing agent is responsible for arranging translation services. That is not your responsibility. Just give them the foreign birth certificate. See page 23: https://www1.nyc.gov/assets/hpd/down...g-handbook.pdf

Quote:
Applications containing content entered by the applicant in a language other
than English must be translated before being processed. The Marketing Agent is
responsible for arranging professional translation services.

Thanks!! I hope it all goes well. Do you know how will they request the letter from my employer? Like they will send a letter or make a phone call?

It's a form the employer has to fill out, which may be followed up by a phone call.

Went yesterday for an appt and I was basically approved because everything went well. Then they asked about my credit. Did the credit check and They rejected me. I am 1800 in collections and they want me to get it down to below 500 in 5 days. I'm going to appeal because that makes absolutely no damn sense to ask for that kind of money. No one I know has debt below $2000. So they collect money from everyone just to reject them. A sad story.

There is a difference between debt and collections. Collections is overdue amount.

See this: http://www1.nyc.gov/assets/hpd/downl...n-Criteria.pdf

"Developers may reject an applicant for other,
non- rent delinquencies only if the current
outstanding amount exceeds $500 (e.g., an
applicant should not be rejected based on a
single overdue cable bill)."

Hi,

I and my wife have been applying for almost every lottery that we meet the income requirements. My wife works for the city by the way. They say working for the city will increase our chance, but we haven't heard anything from any of them. We live in community board 8 Manhattan, and I've never seen a development that fits in our income range in our community. So we always have to apply for the apartments outside our community. How bad will it affect our chance?

Any tips to increase our chance?

Thank you.

Community preference is huge, but if you have a low enough log number, you can be contacted for developments outside your community board. Your wife's work status gives you some lift. For developments outside your CB, you generally, note I said generally, need a number below 500, and that's for developments with about 150 subsidized apartments.

I have a question. This is for a friend of mine. He is recently invited to see the apartment, what should he expect after seeing the apartment? This is for homeownership apartment.
