Yo Djrey has a point there, the beef between mexicans and blacks in south central on the westside is crazy i watched a documentary on it on B.E.T. aka " The sellout network" aka "blackface" entertainment....For those of you that dont know what "Blackface" is google or wikipedia it!!!Personally i have nothing against mexicans i think most of them are hard working people in my opinion but i feel that their is a "light beef" between "some" Ricans & dominicans vs mexicans i have Rican and Dominican friends that see Mexicans as a disgrace i dont fully understand it yet becuase i am not of spanish decent i dont know the difference between Mexican,Dominican, and Rican countries therefore i cannot talk much on it
From my understanding a lot of Mexicans live in Spanish Harlem. As far as melting pot is concerned, it is not Utopia but a lot of people from different cultures intermingle with each other and get along pretty well.
There's also plenty of Mexicans in Mott Haven, Longwood, Concourse, and Soundview neighborhoods of the Bronx.
Don't worry about that "us vs them" nonsense..there are always people that have to beef with somebody or something..that is the only way they know how to live..it is no different than the irish vs italians, italians vs PRs, Blacks vs PRs, Prs vs Dominicans, Dominicans vs Mexicans, etc...see a trend here? Don't worry about it..it is nonsense best left for the ignorant, uneducated people....and has no bearing whatsoever on reality..just reality in the ghettos.

Yea its pretty bad, especially when they start killing the 1st mexican or black they see, freeway shootings, etc.
Mexicans and Central Americans are/were the last wave of Spanish-speaking immigrants to land in New York. The South Americans came in the 60's, and I believe the Cubans and Puerto Ricans came just before then. Mexicans are new immigrants.
Most of the Mexicans are in Queens, off the 7 line. Jackson Heights, Corona, Elmhurst, East Elmhurst, etc.
They are hardworking family people very much like the Irish. They're great basically except for when they're drunk. Good people overall.
Not too many Puerto Ricans and Dominicans in Queens, which is a huge reason it's such a beautiful place. Not to hate on the Ricans and Dominicans--there are plenty who are wonderful--but most of them settled in the "hoods" back in the day. Most Puerto Ricans and Dominicans in NYC embrace the ghetto mentality.
