Yesterday I saw about 6-7 police vehicles outside of a corner store along Guy R Brewer Blvd, the cops started running up the block with their hands on their guns.

I assumed it was a robbery.

I really appreciate your up-to-date reportage, Infamous92, but I'm just askin' -- is it ever bad enough, in your opinion and/or tolerance level -- to think about moving somewhere that you don't hear gunshots out in the street? Just interested in your POV.

I'm so used to it so it rarely bothers me, I like to go outside and it's a shame that you can't even go outside sometimes, there's nothing around here. I've had to duck bullets, had a gun aimed at me, been stabbed, fight, argue, 2 people tried to rob me in an elevator (I wasn't letting that happen though), I've seen bodies, junkies walking around, I wouldn't recommend living here especially if someone wants to raise a family. Most of South Jamaica looks like an innocent suburban neighborhood but most of it isn't.

I want to move badly anyways though, hopefully in the very near future we will move.

Wow, that's terrible. I do hope that you get out soon.

I have family in that area. And yes, parts of it look really nice and quiet (where my fam lives, they own their homes).

Default West farms bronx crime 1990!!!

Wow the old New York was ROUGH!!!.......There is one neighborhood in the Bronx called West Farms......Its was the murder capital of New York back in 1990, the year that peaked in murders for New York......Its population was just over 20,000........And yet it had 137 murders in 1990, by passing East New York, Brooklyn in 1990.......137 murders for one neighborhood in one borough is outrageous......I got this info from the NYPD official website......Also, in murders in 1990, West Farms was comparable to Newark, New Jersey in 1990, which had even less, 112 murders.......West Farms is infamous!!!!To check crime rates for an individual city, check out http://www.disastercenter.com/crime.......

I think something definatly is going one here. I mean how can it be down when we had AT LEAST 10 murders in (two?) days?
