Keep an eye out on your brother and his friend. Unfortunately, chances are not good for your brother's friend to end up with a happy, healthy, normal life. Although he sounds like he's on the up and up now, he is in an unstable environment and could at any time change for the worse. If you see a change for the worse, you should immediately alert your parents. As of now, I would let things alone. Your brother's friend has some stability in his visits to your home, and is benefiting from that. As for the rest of the family getting help, give up. People aren't going to change unless they want to change.
