Well, we ARE one of the more popular sub-forums on City-Data, so you never know. I'm hoping we can keep this somewhat intimate, but given our location I wouldn't be surprised if some folks from Upstate NY and Northern NJ wanted to come as well. After all, they invited me to the NJ get-together, so it would only be fair if I reciprocated and invited them.

"I'm hoping we can keep this somewhat intimate"...........

That is more my train of thought, ScranBarre. My interest is meeting folks living in this area and learning more about them. Especially for the first time out. Allow attendance to grow naturally later on.

I wish I knew more about places to hold something like this in the area. A state park with a pavilion in case of rain. Outdoor activities for kids, etc. Everyone brings a covered dish sort of gathering.

Gee. I'm so old fashioned. You know....one of those "turn left just outside Mayberry" sort of things.

Well, I met Coartist88 and his wife. My husband and I went out to dinner with them and we had a wonderful time. I wouldn't mind meeting a few other couples in a smaller group also.

I have a suggestion - not sure if this is what you're looking for. There's a campground at Lake Henry (Clayton Park) that has an indoor pavillion with kitchen facilities, plus it's on the lake so you can fish, take a boat ride, playground for kids. etc. I know the owners, so could get you info if you wish, just DM me. Not sure if this is centrally located for everyone.

With all due respect, some of these suggestions sound like a snore. I'm thinking more like, Animal House PARTY! And you married folks who want to sit around some candle-lit table eating brasserie, I say: Let your spouse off the leash!!
