I think I'll contact the Lackawanna County recreational board (which governs McDade Park) within the next few days and see if anything can be arranged as far as a shelter is concerned. Even if the park is already fully booked we could still just have a grand old time without a pavillion and just have a rain date handy just in case. I'll also see if the coal mine tour has any group rates available. That's something the new transplants to our area should really enjoy to get a good glimpse of just what made our region the economic powerhouse it once was as recently as the 1950s.
YOUR scaring me..........I can't go in a coal mine with all those caveins that happened last year. You would hear me yelping for hours down there
Gosh, anyhow, what is the date of the shindig? Did you mention it somewhere along the way............. ( summerings calendar is booked with kids and outtings already.......not kidding)

Some of you might could bring a tailgate tent if you have one.

Thanks for the link. I was actually thinking about one of these, but I don't have one anywhere so it would be up to someone else to volunteer to bring one or if nobody has one we can all just chip in $5 per family towards me going to Lowe's and using my discount card to buy one for the event.

Ok did anyone set a date. I don't know when I will be up. We are making an offer on a house tomorrow! after realtor writes it up. Can I still technically be a Georgia resident and still come?
