There is a woman that feeds them only about an eighth of a mile away from our house. But, having ducks and chickens, makes other wildlife not fearful. If we had dogs; then they would not get so close. They perceive us as "safe" because our birds do not fear us. Besides the deer; wild turkeys do not fear us. That doesn't mean that we can go up an pet them. We have had both deer and turkeys within just a few feet away.

Right now we have apples and pears that are also starting to ripen (if we ever get to taste one of our own fruit). I would like to get some pictures of these deer standing on their hind legs and grabbing the apples and pears. Every time I have the camera; they don't! I have shot them with our hose to try to get them to move on - only works until we put down the hose. They do make a device that squirts the animals every time they trip the sensor. But, if it's not the deer; it would be the crows and squirrels or maybe raccoons.

I used to hunt up until about seven years ago. Perhaps one day I'll take it back up? For the time being I would rather use a camera. I think they prefer it that way!

Here is my wife's attempt to keep the deer from standing up and grabbing pears (she is going back to the drawing board).

You like to photograph scenery. If you are ever going to be down in my area and know in advance; give me a PM. You could possibly shoot away at a private waterfalls. I would have to check with my mother first - but she loves photography.

I don't consider myself a photographer. I just like to capture nature. We always miss the best shots!

PS Glad that you enjoyed my backyard Bloomin! These pictures were from this morning.
