But since you guys now know what Obama is about (like I know what Barr stands for), why continue to support him? quote]

People have explained throughout this thread why they want Obama.

You continue to just discount people explaining in detail his policy goals and even where the $$$ will come from as just "empty rhetoric"

It's pointless to argue with you.

Go Obama / Esch !

I've TRIED to explain his socialistic tendencies and his apparent lack of judgment and willingness to contradict his own party....but heck...if that's what you want.......yay Pelosi!

So you want a party candidate to run that has no interest in voting along the party they chose to join's lines? That would be extremely hard to find.

If you're a Democrat in the house I imagine 95% of the time you'll vote party.

If you're a Republican in the house I imagine 95% of the time you'll vote party.

I don't get where you think the someone voting the way the were elected to and choose to is a strike against you.

Burger King isn't going to decide to make pizzas once a month so why hold it against them. It's a Burger King, not a Pizza Hut

And people have tried to explain to you that degrees of socialism are not bad.

And some people actually like the democratic party and Pelosi, so his lack of contradiction is not an issue for people who like him.

Your argument just goes in circles....circles.....circles....

kdrich,

Okay, I've stayed out of this but its gotten a little absurd.

I'm relatively objective on this subject as I'm a republican who is currently undecided...certainly no party line here.

You are simply dismissing any suggestions as simply absurd without even considering them on their merits. I hate to say it but you sound like a Fox news commentator...or a Rush Limbaugh clone.

You don't get into quantitatively WHY you think Obama is more of "socialist" than any other politician. You simply state that he is and then quash anyone's comments who suggest otherwise. You can't seriously suggest that McCain injects any less "socialism" into the mix than Obama. He just uses different terminology and provides the "handouts" in a different form...he calls them tax breaks for the working class...Obama calls it health care benefits. Whats the difference?? Either way someone has to pay for the difference. This comment goes for everybody...there is NO big difference between the two. The country will not implode if either are elected. They simply highlight their differences in order to distinguish themselves from the other.

I don't necessarily agree or disagree with you on who to vote for, but you are being very very patronizing and condescending when you say things like, " . . . if thats what you want. . ." You assume your opinion to be fact and then you accuse those who disagree with that opinion as being uninformed or ignorant because they don't agree with you.

This is not something that has a yes or no answer...not matter what Rush Limbaugh tells you.

As far as Obama acting independently from his party...well McCain votes with the Republican party over 90% of the time too! They are both in their respective party for a reason...its the party that most resonates with their core beliefs.

Why is obama a socialist? Umm...because he has hung around them in the past, admitting in his book to purposely hanging around socialist professors? He was a member of the "New Party" in 1996.

Because he wants the government to provide socialist programs?

I'm not calling him a pinko commie...but I am saying that he's a socialist. His answer to all of our problems is government control.

Again--if you want that..great--vote away. Honestly though, I don't think most people realize what the guy believes.

And I don't think most people know what socialism is. They immediatly think of the old U.S.S.R.
