Actually I prefer Manhattan over New England. The only place that has Manhattan on their menu that I am aware of is the Luna Sea in Yachats
.
Mo's claim to fame was putting fresh bacon bits in their chowder. The rest is nothing special.

Szabo's in the Northern part of Newport has a great chowder so does the Adobe Resort in Yachats as well as the Sea Hag in Depot Bay.

Now who has the best fish and chips on the Central Coast?

I've done the Pepsi Challenge on all the chowder on the coast, and my expert panel of judges has ruled that McMennamin's Light House in Lincoln City has the best chowder.

And Bobmulk is correct, there is better chowder in the valley. When Wyatt's was still around in Albany, their chowder crushed Moe's. Unfortunately, a semi-fancy restaurant/sports bar can't live off of chowder alone...

Me, too. Thanks for such a great thread. I've had Mo's because it was recommended and I wondered why clam chowder was mostly potatoes and where the clams went?

Looking forward to trying some new places.
