Green I spend a lot of time on the computer too. It has really helped me with my anxiety disorder. It gives me something to take my mind off of being anxious all the time. But like others have said, you do need to take a break, even to go for a short walk. That is what I do. I forced myself to get off the puter and just walk and take in the beauty of my surroundings, and breathe some fresh air. I have been really having a very bad time with anxiety lately, and I thank god that I do have this forum to come back to. It has helped me out greatly. I dont think there is anything wrong with being online. But you have to have some real human interaction at some point. We as humans need that. Banning you from this forum isnt the answer, there are a lot of others ones that you can go to. This is where you have to be strong in yourself and just walk away at different times in the day. It isnt healthy to sit all day either. That will do you no good. I know when I first started getting involved with my computer, it was kinda like a drug. I needed to be online. Then I realized that wasnt healthy for me. Like I said, I needed to talk to people in person too. I just learned to balance it. I think you can to. If you ever want to talk you can DM me at any time. If anything, there are some wonderful people on this Forum!!!! Any one of them would be there to help you, I am sure. You take care, and I know you will work through this, and do what works for you. See, you have helped me already. I was having a massive panic attack, I posted in my panic thread and then saw your post. Typing all this has helped calm me down, so for that, thank you...
GreenMachine, you have been banned for 7 days, but I don't think that is what you really needed. I used to be very addicted to the Internet, but I told myself that I could only be on for a certain amount of time, and I stuck to it. Today due to McAfee problems, signing up, etc. I have been on longer than usual. Also some Internet places are more healthy than others, and your posts have been most welcomed. This is a healthy place to be. If you change your mind before the seven days are up, just DM me. If you wish to talk, just DM me.
Suzet,
I agree when you have anxiety the internet can really help. when I am really worried about something I have often used the computer to get away from things.
Jessaka, the internet can be a wonderful place like you said. When i first quit smoking many years ago, I stayed online almost day and night. As long as I was typing, I couldn't smoke or even eat. lol
It really worked. I credit the internet for helping me quit and getting my typing speed way way up.
Whoa, GreenMachine. Just noticed that you're banned. Moderator cut: calling out a moderator I miss your posts already. Hope you hurry back. And of course I'd read your blog. Do you have one?

Reason: calling out a moderator
this is great.
p.s. 12-step programs are great too and they really work
Duhhhyeahokay, can you do 12-steppers online?
I walked a friend thru a 12-stepper before ... NA (Narcotics Anonymous).
NASCAR, 'Rasslin' and NA - I only go for the wrecks.
I realized I have a thing for wrecks.
Hi, my name is Rocky - and I'm a wreck-o-holic!
Glad to see you back, but do take care of yourself. I'd go crazy without my computer, but I do walk away from it and turn it off when not in use!!
In October I was gone for 6 days and I thought I'd go crazy without the 'puter. Turned out I read 2 books and enjoyed my trip. So, I told myself "Paula, you're not an addict"
