mom, dad and two 10 y.o. girls. We have played UNO so much we are getting tired of it and our summer break is only 1 day old!

I used to play canasta in high school but don't remember it at all. Is it appropriate for 10 y.o.?

What about some simple gambling card games?

I think hearts might work but I will have to look it up.

I've always thought BS was fun. Have you played that before?

Hearts for sure, that is a big winner. I love that game and it is a great basis for other trick taking games.

I have Brazilian friends and they taught me Truco, I found that fun and it is good for four people. It might be too hard for the 10 YO, not sure.

Hearts, spades, even euchre might not be hard for them. Canasta has so many versions and not sure how you played but I think that is definitely a good one also. Jin is also a good one, so many variations on that one also. 31 has a betting element to it but a good game if you don't have an aversion to that. I know if I sit down and think I could come up with a million more, we love games!

I played a lot of simple poker and blackjack with my parents at that age. I think it really helped my math/probability and reasoning skills. Rummy is a good one too. Or if you're tired of cards, how about Yahtzee or Monopoly?

Garbage Game Rules
I never played this, but my kids picked it from their dads side of the family and absolutely loved it.

And not strictly a card game, but what about cribbage? Another good one for sharpening some math skills.
