Honest to god, are y'all nothing but middle class suburbanites with disposable incomes?
Really?
You don't know any poor people? You don't know anyone who cannot afford internet access or a cell phone?
Seriously?
Well then, good deal. You've done well for yourselves. But I am here to tell you that there are plenty of people who are not as well-off as you. You are apparently so well-off that you automatically & unconsciously take it for granted that everyone is up to speed on the I.T. Highway---that everyone can afford internet connectivity & cell phone charges. I presume as well that you assume everyone can text and/or talk on the phone whilst driving, eh? Do you also assume everyone can afford to run their heating in the winter? Do you assume everyone can afford to pay for their children's school-related field trips? Do you assume everyone can afford to take their children to Disneyland?

And by the way, did you know that magazines of all sorts---including porno---are still being produced in America and the rest of the world? No? You didn't know that? Really? I am not being sarcastic. I am truly amazed that you thought all magazines disappeared after the commercial WWW began in 1994. But if you go to stores like 7-11 you will find actual paper-based magazines. You will! I swear it! Go see for yourself! I ain't lying!

For Heaven's sake, people...
Do you mean you have never googled the fact that MOST human beings on this PLANET do not have phones, televisions, or internet connectivity?
Try it.

Not only does most of the world NOT have phones or internet access, not everyone in America or Europe has those things, either.

By the way, this double-shot latte with caramel & 3 sugars is very tasty...mmmmm...yes.
Actually, I do know many poor people. ALL of them have internet access at home. Most of them also have cell phones. They don't live in cardboard boxes either.

And if one doesn't have the internet at home, they pretty much are guaranteed to have friends who do have the internet. Nothing new about teenage boys looking at naked bodies. Nothing wrong with it either.

Many magazines have ceased publication. I get notices almost monthly that a magazine I previously subscribed to is shutting down. Porn magazines aren't published like they used to be. The internet has pretty much killed the publishing industry.

As for your rant about how many tvs the world has, in the US there are more tvs than people living in a house! This isn't anything new. Courtesy of your friends at Google:

Average home has more TVs than people - USATODAY.com

What's life in Africa got to do with life in America or Europe? So we have things that they don't have in China, Africa, the Middle East, South America....Heck I've got things that don't exist on Antarctica and I'm not about to move there! And, yes, there are people who live on Antarctica. There's not towns and villages, but there are researchers there who live there.

Pretty much. Nothing new about this. I've yet to hear of a boy who didn't look at magazines or watch porn when they were teenagers.

Would the parents with liberal views toward the seemingly heterosexual son behave in the same way?
So what if a kid is gay? So what if they are curious about what gay people do?

So what if a girl has porn? You think girls don't look at porn? No, typically, they are not as interested in it as boys, but many girls are curious. It's all part of growing up.

When would I worry? If I found dead bodies of animals or severed limbs from animals....then I'd be really worried and the kid would be in therapy. Over looking at naked people? Yeah not so much.

Yes actually I would. Also, if you trot on over to the "Should kids see their parents nude" thread you'll see I have absolutely nothing against nudity or sex.

I know quite a few young teens. The ones doing those things are the ones who are allowed to do whatever they like without little oversight because "that's just what teens do." Bull****. Like all other people, teens live up to or down to the bar you set for them.

Trust me, I used to think like you. You're only fighting nature. You can't fight nature. Work with Mother Nature. Sit down with your kid and discuss the consequences of sex. Discuss the consequences of watching porn (there is only one potential consequence - not having a healthy sexual relationship later in life). Above all, don't punish or make demands or ultimatums. You might as well punish your kid for eating or pooping in that case.
I'm not sexually repressing anyone. To insinuate one needs to view porn to have a healthy sexual identity is absolute bull**** of the highest degree. You know what someone needs to have a healthy sexual identity? Confidence in themselves, respect for their lover, be educated on STDs and pregnancies as well as birth control. NONE of that comes from watching pornography.

I'm not fighting nature. My children both know what sex is, we use the proper names for sexual organs and when they ask me a question, I answer them honestly. Again - no porn needed.

I will punish them for having pornography in my home just as I would punish them for having other items I've made clear I don't want them to have.

Magritte, your time would be better spent worrying about the exploitation of laborers in India who are going to be scrapping your computer when it is sent over there as E-waste, rather than women who choose to be employed in the porn industry.

Perhaps your time would be better spent worrying about what you'd like rather than telling me what I should or should not care about.

Many women in the sex industry are emotionally damaged, abused people who are making the decision to be in the industry out of a place of pain and helplessness. All of them? No. Enough of them do though and I won't support it.

Ah yes, suppression of debate. That goes along with the authoritarian Islamic/Catholic mindset that prohibits porn in the first place.

I'd have a facepalm moment. Not because of the porn, but because I had a teenager who couldn't run a vacuum or change sheets on his bed.

I think if you have a mom that thinks finding porn is grounds for therapy.....the kid probably really does need therapy....just not for the porn.
