No therapy needed. But at 14 I'd confiscate them and punish him. IMO, its no different than finding cigarettes or alcohol in his room.

From ABC News:

"Pornography has grown into a $10 billion business — bigger than the NFL, the NBA and Major League Baseball combined — and some of the nation's best-known corporations are quietly sharing the profits.
Companies like General Motors, AOL Time Warner and Marriott earn revenue by piping adult movies into Americans' homes and hotel rooms, but you won't see anything about it in their company reports."

Even if we cut that figure in half, SOMEONE is watching a lot of porn. Add in sex toys, swinger parties, online "chat" rooms and plain old infidelity and the people of his country spend a lot of time on sex.

And yet, every day the Morality Police try and convince us that this is deviant behavior. No. Human sexuality is normal behavior. It goes hand in hand with survival of the species and reproduction. The human mind is a fountain of creativity. Start with missionary sex and the possibilities are limitless. Add to that telling people they "can't do it" and you might as well lay out a road map.

This poor boy mentioned by the OP will hopefully get past his mother's ludicrous behavior and grow up to be w well adjusted and not sexually repressed hypocrite. Best of luck to him.
Human sexuality is normal and good and healthy and fun.

I reject the idea that pornography, sex chat rooms, etc are part and parcel of every human being sexual identity and experience.

I don't care what other people do. Well, I do and I have my opinions but I wouldn't presume to tell them those opinions unless directly asked. But in my home, as strongly as I feel against pornography, I would have a serious talk about the exploitative nature of the sex industry. Yes there are diamonds among coal but many a young woman and man has fallen down the rabbit hole of the sex industry and the results were less than happy.

Why? It's normal for a 14 year old to want to know about sex. I am curious about what other posters would do if they discovered:

A: gay porn in the boy's room
B: porn in their 14 year old daughter's room.

Would the parents with liberal views toward the seemingly heterosexual son behave in the same way?

Plain old porn? NO BIGGIE! That's totally normal behaviour.

Violent porn or seriously kinky stuff, I'd confiscate and have a talk with my son.

A: gay porn in the boy's room? I guess if I didn't know, I'd find out my son might be gay. No biggie.

B: porn in their 14 year old daughter's room? Girls are just as curious as guys. No biggie!

Why punish him? At 14, he might have already had a few sexual experiences unless he's a late bloomer.

Honest to god, are y'all nothing but middle class suburbanites with disposable incomes?
Really?
You don't know any poor people? You don't know anyone who cannot afford internet access or a cell phone?
Seriously?
Well then, good deal. You've done well for yourselves. But I am here to tell you that there are plenty of people who are not as well-off as you. You are apparently so well-off that you automatically & unconsciously take it for granted that everyone is up to speed on the I.T. Highway---that everyone can afford internet connectivity & cell phone charges. I presume as well that you assume everyone can text and/or talk on the phone whilst driving, eh? Do you also assume everyone can afford to run their heating in the winter? Do you assume everyone can afford to pay for their children's school-related field trips? Do you assume everyone can afford to take their children to Disneyland?

And by the way, did you know that magazines of all sorts---including porno---are still being produced in America and the rest of the world? No? You didn't know that? Really? I am not being sarcastic. I am truly amazed that you thought all magazines disappeared after the commercial WWW began in 1994. But if you go to stores like 7-11 you will find actual paper-based magazines. You will! I swear it! Go see for yourself! I ain't lying!

For Heaven's sake, people...
Do you mean you have never googled the fact that MOST human beings on this PLANET do not have phones, televisions, or internet connectivity?
Try it.

Not only does most of the world NOT have phones or internet access, not everyone in America or Europe has those things, either.

By the way, this double-shot latte with caramel & 3 sugars is very tasty...mmmmm...yes.
Dude lay off the latte

Except cigarettes and alcohol are bad for your health and a good reason to take away.

Its just a nudie magazine.....big whoop.

Boys wanting to see whatever gender they are attracted to naked, it's natural for them to want to know what they look like, it's normal and natural. It shouldn't be punished.
