I pay 7 dollars a month. I get my hair cut from a place where the woman charges 7 bucks and she's just as good or better than the 24 dollar haircut at Floyd's. I probably dont even get it cut once a month, maybe once every 5 weeks.

I cut my own hair and have saved a fortune in last 10 years. When my friend the barter told me I look better without hair then I stopped having hair cuts and shaved it off.

I haven't paid for a haircut in about 15 years. I cut my own, and it isn't a buzz by any means. I also don't cut it more than once every other month, but usually less frequently than that.

You'd also save yourself time. You don't sit in the barber's chair for an hour each time, but it probably takes an hour including travel, etc. So in 4 years you'd saved $2000 and 100 hours of your time. That's a nice little two-week paid vacation.

But if you'd rather sit in the barber's chair more often and have a fresh haircut weekly, that's what you should do.

It is $11 plus a $3 tip for me to get my hair cut. I go every six to eight weeks. I don't need frequent hair cuttings to speding $800 on looking good. I have better things to spend my money on.

My husband's hair apparantly grows very slowly. He only gets it cut every 3-4 months, and it doesn't even look that long to me when he does go in. So he spends under $100 per year. Having to get it cut every week sounds insane to me.

Hi all--

Shortly after I entered college I bought a pair of clippers and had free haircuts for years. Living in dorms my first year, I actually charged $1 to let other guys buzz their own hair and probably made my money back and then some. So I had free haircuts for years.

Sadly, that pair of clippers eventually broke and I never got around to replacing it. Plus, a buzzcut doesn't work well on me - it was just a cheap solution. Nowadays I go to the $6.99 place, although I may step it up to the $20 place at some point - once every two months or so.

^^^^Ditto. Saved me over a $100 a year going to whichever place had a coupon.

One day I went in for a haircut and realized I was paying $12-$15 for 5minutes....so I'm paying roughly $150 an hour for a haircut? No way.....
