I think the OP is a metrosexual troll. Simple as that.

Wait a minute.

In my career field a weekly haircut is very often mandatory, two weeks is pushing it.

Nothing to do with how fast your hair grows; and nothing to do with sexual preference.

Many times I have seen men getting a haircut simply to have an up-dated receipt to prove that they had a haircut that week, as otherwise you could not really tell.

At one location, I volunteered to be a barber in my off-duty hours [ not like living underwater you can really do much else in 'off-duty' hours ]. For volunteering in that manner I was given a barber 'kit'. From that experience, years later I continued to cut my own hair. I kept it extra short. So nobody gave me grief for not seeing a barber.

I gave myself a trim every 2 weeks up until I retired. Over 30 years later, I still have that barber kit with an Oyster #10.

To suggest that needing a haircut is in some manner sexual, is off mark.

That's $1000 more than my hubby pays. I cut his hair and our two boys.

My wife cuts mine for free. Well, the clippers were 19.95 a few years back.

Yes, it is. How is crazy enough to spend $1000 on haircuts?

Wife cuts my hair so I spend $0 per year. Well I suppose we spend a few cents on electricity running the razor for a couple minutes, and will eventually have to replace the razor and scissors (both about 10 years old now).

$1000 a year? A bit much. The OP could shave his head bald and save. Win-Win! : )

That's what I did! Shaved it down to a No. 1 back in 2003 (when I was 25; started losing my hair a few years earlier), then shaved it all in 2006 and have stayed that way ever since. I shave my head about every five days.
