heck yes..who could forget Legend city? especially with all the Wallace and Ladmo stage shows...it was Arizonas answer to Disneyland..if you go to wallaceWatchers.com or one of the Wallace and Ladmo yahoo clubs you will find lots of pictures and memories of Legend City..its a shame Legend City went under, we definately could use a place like that for our kids today.

Absolutely! My fondest childhood memories are of times spent at Legend City, not my time at Disneyland. It was a magical time in Phoenix' history-The Wallace and Ladmo era. If it was possible to freeze a moment in time, that would be very high on my personal list.

Yes, the City of Mesa recently approved a new water venue. It will be a state-of-the-art facility with surfing, scuba, snorkeling, slides and a river surrounded by restaurants, office buildings and even condo's. I don't recall when construction is to be started.

Arizonans go to California for their amusment We love the nickname "Zonies" there
Which brings me to one of my better known 'pet peeves' here on this forum *smile*

Does anyone know why there is no amusement park north toward Flagstaff?

Disneyland is just too far to travel for most people and very expensive. The weather would not be much of an issue up north, because quite frankly, there are many parts of Arizona that are not 'hot' like Phoenix.

I had also heard a company was planning to build a new amusement park in Phoenix.

For water parks, the biggest ones here are Big Surf in Tempe and Waterworld Safari Water Park in Glendale.

Mostly because their is very, very, very little private land north of Phoenix, Most is State trust lands or Federal Forest (BLM) land.

Just curious.
The weather is not as nice as people say it is.

I heard the ground is pretty hard here in Phoenix so its not ideal for building roller coasters on. (?)
