You don't need numbers when you have loyalty. Most Saints fans have stuck with the team thru thin and thick.

And where was Saints' fans loyalty prior to 2006. Let me remind you Saints fans since Katrina seemed to wash your memories of that prior era.

(1) Saints Owner, Tom Benson, tried to relocate the team for years because New Orleans refused renovations to the Superdome, and provide a new practice facility. Where were the fans then?

(2) Saints fans created the infamous brown bag over their head to publicly demonstrate shame in their team.

(3) Saints fans used to describe their team as the 'Aints.

Not really! Before Sean Payton and Drew Brees got there, there was no Who DAT NATION or any of the pomp you see now. It was a pretty lame and lackluster team and following. The reason the Saints are what they are today is because of Sean Payton, Drew Brees and Hurricaine Katrina. The city used Katrina to galvanize the Saints. They were a symbol of hope that the city rallied behind. Combine that with the love they got from the national media that year, it escalated into this sensational product you see now. However, it wasn't always like that and it's laughable how Saints fans forget what it was like before Katrina. Outside of Lousiana, you never saw Saints fans wearing their jerseys pre-Katrina. I love the revisionist mentality of Saints fans. You guys act like you have always been like this. Even in New Orleans, it was always about LSU and the Saints were an afterthought.

Are you from New Orleans? Do you live in New Orleans? Are you an expert on everything New Orleans Saints?

My family have been season ticket holders since 1967. I remember as a kid watching the Superdome being built in the 70's while the Saints continued to play in the Tulane Stadium. Game day is and has been a family tradition for over 45 years. Loyalty for the Saints and LSU run deep and usually start at birth.

As an alumni of Hurricane Katrina, native of NOLA, and Saints fan - please stop pontificating about "memories" that you know nothing about.

There are lots of Saints fans in Texas (especially in the Dallas and Houston areas). Texas is basically a suburb of Louisiana

I've been a Saints fan since I discovered football in high school. That was 1971. My first live Saints game was at Tulane, the Superbowl wasn't even an idea yet. The Saints lost that game, as I recall. I've never ever worn a bag over my head and I don't care if they win or loose, they're my team. I'm an Auburn fan too. Double whammy some years, but hey, that's just how it goes in the life of a fan. I've rooted for the Saints when I was living in Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Texas and now New Mexico. And if I move to PHX, I'll root for them there, too.

Especially now that I know where the party bar is.

You are partially right, in that the last 10 years have been the best years for the Saints organization and the fans and as you said a lot of credit goes to Sean Payton, Drew Brees and don't forget "silent assassin" GM Mickey Loomis who is one of the best if not the best GM in the NFL. But the Saints have always had a large following in Lousiana and the Gulf Coast, while lately our team is a national brand now and one of the most successful teams in football the last 10 years we have had some good years before that. You would have to be a real Saints fan to know that. The Jim Mora years with the "Dome Patrol" was always a top 5 defense, the probably is those teams had very little offense. Also we had a couple of good years with Jim Haslett as head coach as well. Both of those coaches had playoffs teams. You are right though none of those years compare to recent memory but the love and passion has always been strong in New Orleans and Louisiana for the Saints.

"Who dat" is, hands down, the most ghetto slogan in all of sports. Speaking of donning paper bags, I would wear a paper bag over my head just so I wouldnt have to associate with such idiots who walk around saying such ghetto nonsense.
