You might want to read up on the origin of that phrase. It's very interesting.

No. What makes it unique is that it goes against the grain of your more traditional slogans and chants. You know the bland stuff, kinda like some peoples food. We like seasoning in our food, get it.

I didnt find that interesting whatsoever. Its origins basically date back to the 20s/30s, and its "origins" are just people trying to sound as dumb and uneducated as possible from the sound of it. Saints fans take it a little further with "Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?"Who dat". I feel dumber for having even read that.

But the Saints have always had a large following in Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, while lately our team is a national brand now and one of the most successful teams in football the last 10 years we have had some good years before that. You would have to be a real Saints fan to know that. The Jim Mora years with the "Dome Patrol" was always a top 5 defense, the probably is those teams had very little offense. Also we had a couple of good years with Jim Haslett as head coach as well. Both of those coaches had playoffs teams. You are right though none of those years compare to recent memory but the love and passion has always been strong in New Orleans and Louisiana for the Saints.
Don't forget about the Archie Manning years - good times

I'm not old enough to remember the Archie years because I was not even born yet but I heard he was a very good player on horrible teams. I fell in love with the saints as a little boy during the Bum Phillips era.

Nah. Just giving my opinion on the "who dat" phrase, thats all. Its annoying, and makes intelligent people sound stupid when they say it.

It's really not any dumber than Dallas fans saying "da Boys" (which, by the way, was stolen from Da Bears). I have no idea what the Cardinal fans say.
