The Stiller’s have definitely wasted a lot of talent.
Yes, unless he has serious nerve damage, that's a lot of money to write off.
All of these high defensive draft picks over the past few years, but most have been duds, save Watt.
Terrell Edmunds, who was really a 3rd round talent, is the latest, on top of Dupree, Burns, etc.
Who can forget the late, unlamented Jarvis Jones?
Far too many swings and misses, and please forget the excuse that they were late 1st round picks.
Poor talent evaluation, plus poor coaching is not a recipe for success.
Steelers seem to be too enamored with athletes as opposed to football players.

Again, he should’ve taken this opportunity, but didn’t want to become a backup and didn’t like the money offered. As the saying goes, “shoulda, coulda, woulda, but didn’t”, and it’s too late now.

I really have no opinion regarding Tomlin but as Collier`s column points out. There are no standout players on the roster and you need several of those to win a SB. Neither Lombardi or Noll could take this team very far. One thing though. Losing by 30 points is on the players.

I can’t imagine being a fan of a football team with ONE qb on the active roster, going into week three, and wanting to pass on Kap for football reasons.

You must not pay much attention to the NFL. A guy that isn’t good to begin with and has been out for almost 3 seasons is done.

Nobody’s arguing that. Losing Bell and AB is a huge loss, and almost nobody thinks this is a SB winning team.

Tomlin wasted a lot of talent for many years that Noll and/or Lombardi had a better chance of taking the team farther than Tomlin.

And Tommy John surgery isn’t a big deal anymore. Most pitchers come back from it stronger.

Tomlin, IMO has way too much influence in the draft, and he’s said multiple times that he calls the defense. 2 major issues that aren’t going well.

I tend to agree with you. Look, we all LOVE Ben, he has been a terrific force in this team and a great quarterback for years. How could we not worship him. But the fact is, Ben is getting older, none of us can stop time, and quarterback years are different than non quarterback years.

Yes, he has, in recent years, had his moments, but those moments are fewer and farther between lately. Ben has also taken a lot of hits, and the body remembers those hits and starts reminding you more often, as you age. It seem like it might be time for Ben to do what Bradshaw did, and retire.

We also do not have a good running squad or receivers right now. The days of the Lynn Swans are long gone, and with AB gone (as much as I personally do not care for AB) he is good.

The Steelers need rebuilt from the ground up with fresh, really good talent. Until they do that, we are going to not see the Steelers we all grew up watching run all over the competition. The Patriots now fill that slot.

Ben was one of the best qb’s in the league last year(#1 in passing yards and #4 in qb rating).

It’s funny how the armchair qb’s come out in droves after 2 games. It’s also funny how the defense and special teams are big problems but aren’t mentioned.

Those that want Ben replaced will get there wish this year. Can’t wait to see how it pans out and see the excuses that are made if/when it doesn’t pan out.
